A $2500 gun is the least of my worries if I have to use it in self defense. They're not that expensive for a 2011, I don't have one but I'd say they're probably worth it- especially if you qualify for the mil/le 15% off + 6 mags deal. The safety is good but thats not surprising because the 1911 safety is the best safety there is. Weight wise the Staccato clocks in at ~34oz and the Glock 17 at ~22oz. If you plan to have other guns in the series and want cross platform compatibility and skill, imo C2 is the way to go.

For me I got a DLC barrel and love it. The less wear isn't the only benefit. It's smoother all around which makes a difference with these tight tolerances. I don't see why staccato can't just expand their custom pistol builder. Example, you'd build your pistol from the ground up. 1. Start with grip. P grip, C2 grip, or "X" grip etc. 2. Chose if you want a magwell. 3.Then go to frame. Aluminum, Steel, and have lengths for dust covers. Update to my response above. The Tac grip is worth it to me. I had a chance the stand at a premier staccato dealer and work with both grips back to back. The original is good until you try the Tac grip. Soon as I picked it up, wow this feels right. The original just felt a little slicker compared to the Tac and my hands were dry at the time.
